Gemstone Foods Decatur names two to operations team

Gemstone Foods, LLC, and its Decatur, Alabama-based operating entity, River City Foods, is pleased to announce the hiring of three new members to its operations team. Jeff Power has joined the company as vice president, Decatur Operations. He will be assisted by Jordan Scott as plant manager.
Power brings over 25 years of proven poultry experience to Gemstone. Power has held management positions over his career with Tyson Foods and Drapper Valley Farms. Prior to joining Gemstone, Power was with Pilgrim's Pride and responsible for the Mt. Pleasant,Texas, complex, the largest in Pilgrim's organization. At Mt. Pleasant, Power was directly responsible for the 4,000 team members from live to further processing operations. Power holds a bachelor of science degree in chemistry with a minor in biology and psychology from Ouachita Baptist University.
Scott serves as plant manager for the Decatur operations. His experience includes serving as processing manager with Sanderson Farms, and in management positions with Pilgrim's Corporation in processing and live divisions. Scott has a bachelor of poultry science degree from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas.
Gemstone Foods, LLC, provides a wide array of custom and specialty poultry processing services tailored to the unique requirements of each client. Services include the custom sizing, portioning, packaging, and/or further processing of poultry and poultry-related items. Gemstone services some of the nation’s largest fast-food restaurants and poultry suppliers.
